Scented

Sunday morning during my blog rounds, I swung by one of my favorite Canadian's place. I could not resist linking her. Kyahgirl- Practical Perfume Procurement Pointers . Kyahgirl is an endless resource on this subject...she knows a thing or two.

I like perfume, always have. I only love a few fragrances but I just like perfume in general. I think my love affair with scents started when I was a small girl. My oldest sister J. gave me a delicately wrapped bottle of LOVE'S BABY SOFT perfume as a birthday present. I treasured that bottle, it lasted until my next birthday when she bought me another bottle...but that bottle came inside a giftset, along with body powder and lotion. I was hooked.

When I was in my teens, I wore Coty Wild Musk and Chanel N°5. I still keep Chanel #5 on hand, it is a classic fragrance, good for all occassions. I also keep (yes, I know this is kinda cheesy) a bottle of White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor in supply as well. The White Diamonds scent is clean and fresh to me. I like to wear it in the daytime. But............my absolute favorite fragrance is Clean Perfume By Dlish which, by the way, is expensive and I am officially OUT of it...sigh.

Last spring when I was in St.Louis, I discovered Blonde. It's a Perfume by Versace, launched By The Design House Of Gianni Versace In 1995. It is what I call a luxurious, subtle, flowery fragrance. It has a Blend of Neroli, Orange flower, India absolute tuberose, and Egyptian jasmine absolute. It's more of a romantic, nite-time fragrance, but I really like it. It lasts a long time and requires only a tiny spritz to apply.

My Blonde bottle was nearly full until recently. When one morning, while I was in the shower, Toddler Terror decided to test out all of my fragrances. Needless to say, when I was done showering, my Wee One smelled like a french whore and my perfume supply depleted to half. I have since relocated my stash to a top shelf cabinet and out of his sight.

I think a person's scent says a lot about them. My best friend L. wears 2 kinds perfumes, Estee Lauder's White Linen and Vanilla Fields. Best friend L. is always well put together but loves the outdoors, especially the sun.

I am interested in what kinds of perfume y'all like to wear....so? What kinds do my blogger friends like?

I have a variety. I don't wear them often, as Bri has allergies. Sigh.

I like Estee Lauder Beautiful and White Linen. I have shower gels in these. They don't seem to bother him as much as straight perfume. I love Musk. I also have a showerful of other shower gels I use constantly. I have Lilac, Magnolia, Green Tea, Bamboo, Jasmine and Tiara Flower. I get them from Yves Rocher. It's a tad pricey, but they have B1G1's & 50% off sales all the time. I'm a shower gel slut! LOL D :}

I have a perfume fetish! I want to smell good and I like for my house to smell good too. I especially like woodsey, spicey scents rather than flowery ones. I love just about anything with a touch of patchouli and sandlewood probably stemming from my teenage years in the hippy 70s. One of my favorite scents now is L'Artisan Tea for Two. I'm not really sure it was meant to be unisex or just for men but I wore it anyway. It's bloody expensive and I am out of it. For my birthday I got Amarige Mariage, it's pretty tastey. I didn't think I'd like it because I never liked Amarige. I still like Burberry for a lighter scent.

(my blog is back up although I haven't updated yet)

I love Snob. Unfortunately it is not available here in US. Might not be in France anymore either for all I know.

Morning BG! I stick with the old classics like Wind Song and Cachet, but one I love and would never spend $50 on it for myself, is Angel. I love the smell of it. Of course I have no idea what it would smell like on me, but I want it! Jean Nate is another favorite of mine, & of course, the $1.50 body sprays at walmart, I like sweet pea, cucumber melon, etc. Haven't commented on your blog in a while, still with reading it every day, but my computer time is spent theorizing about where Trenton Duckett is.Not even emailing my friends, need to get back to priorities. Will be able to see my son's jr. high football game today, so that's a bonus, if I can just shake this cold/sinus/allergy/flu crap I'm good!! Have a good one!

I love the scent of Lavender. All my bathing products are in that scent. When I wear a perfume it is Nantucket Briar made by Crabtree & Evelyn.

I love Realities by Liz Claiborne (it works really well with my body chemistry, doesn't give me a headache and men love it on me) the sad thing is....they reformulated it and it doesn't smell the same....so now i'm on a quest to find more of the orginal....I'm almost out and I'm about to cry.

I've been trying out new stuff but nothing is as good as Realities. Sniff sniff :(

I loved musky scents when I was in high school, like Coty Wild Musk and Aviance Night Musk. Used to love X'ia X'iang but I don't think they make it any more? My all-time fave scent now is Fresh Index Violet Moss, but I also love Pretty Poison (I think that's the name? the vanilla-y one), Chanel no. 19, Brandy (yes! it really is nice!), Avon Women of Earth, Il Bacio and the now-defunct Perhaps.

You hit on a subject near and dear to my heart- PERFUME!!! I love perfume, I've got about a hundred bottles- literally. MY FAVORITE perfume is Red 2, by Georgio, however it has been discontinued- and is only avalible through fragrancenet.com

Some of my other loves are Addict, Coco Chanel, Angel, Ellen Tracy, and Cashmier Mist- but then again, I love a lot of perfume! :0)

Lavender is my favorite fragrance. I'm not much on perfumes from the cosmetic counters because most of them don't smell the way they should once I put them on. Then, the headache arrives.
When I was 10, I found a beautiful bottle of "something hideous" at the variety store. I think it cost $1.49. I loved the scent of it, so I saved my money and the next Saturday when we "went to town" I made my purchase. Daubbed it all over before I left the store. By the time we arrived home, my mother was gasping for air. We didn't have indoor plumbing, but I do remember getting dunked into the #4 washtub like it was a dipping vat. There wasn't much left in the bottle, but rest assured, it was disposed of.
