The Look

Son #1 won his game Monday evening. 16-0. It was a great game!!! Hubby and I were so proud of him. He played exceptionally well, the whole team did a good job. Son #1 had a great QB sack, he's 'known' for his QB sacks. He also had 2 fumble recoveries from the opposing team and a lot of good tackles. The opponents announcer did a very good job narrating the game plays. My son's name was mentioned in a lot of plays, I lost count after 7 or eight! I think it was very good sportsmanship of the opposing team knowing the name's of their contender's players and giving them credit for a great play. In fact, I noticed the team we played lastnite had good sportsmanship and my son said "they were 'pretty cool, not talking trash, or cheap-shotting'."

Son #1 is #53 I took this just before he took the running back down with help from one of his team-mates.

Monday afternoon, hubby finished work early( 4pm) so we could go to the game together. Babysitter B. stayed with Wee One. He was cranky and tired, and I did not want him out in the wind with his ears, surgery is ON for Thursday.
The game started at 5pm straight up, it was over an hour drive. I told hubby to 'step on it' so we would not miss much of the game. Hubby was concerned because one of the highways we travelled was frequented by the highway patrol. I told him I would watch for them, it was all praire, you can see for miles, literally. We made good time-no hypos or any cops or anything for that matter. When we pulled into the little town, we spotted the football field and turned in, just about then, a city cop did a u-turn. He was a short, midget, dough-boy looking cop(we got a good look thru the cop's open window as he drove past us). Hubby gives me the 'why do I let you talk me into doing stupid stuff, like speeding?' look. Well, dough-boy wasnt after us, but someone in a red hotrod in front of us. Whew, I thought I was going to have to pay a ticket (not really).

Last nite, best guy friend D. came out to visit. He and his girlfriend are 'officially over'. or so he says....The drama, I'll spare y'all the drama. Anyhow, it was nice to visit with him and get caught up on the local news (gossip). He always hears something interesting! And, who says men do not gossip? They are worse than women!

Wee One's surgery is offically on for 9/28. Early yesterday morning we drove to Tulsa and registered for his surgery. He saw his MD, he is good to go. I'll be back around when I can.

Friday Night Lights in Oklahoma. Enjoyed the play-by-play and glad to know he had a good time. Not-to-mention his team won. Your posts always have so much info in them, it's almost like reading the Prairie Gazette. EEEEKS, a snake. Glad you have a sense of humor. I'm interested in knowing if you will use that snake in the future to "get back." The horse is beautiful.

My guy is a sports boy too. Hockey, soccer, baseball and golf. Football isn't big around here until high school, but he's not a big kid and I'm the kind of mom who wants to leap from the stands yelling"I know First Aid" when my son goes down so I don't know if "I" could handle football.
I laughed when I read" you could see for miles, literally" I am from Saskatchewan originally. I hear you. Radar was always in the same two spots, the only bushes for miles! That stretch of the highway could be driven on auto pilot!
Good luck on Thursday, always stressful. I will say a prayer for you.
peace,
Hope

Good game! We're orange & black as well. We tied, 0-0. No losses yet, but plenty of ties. Will keep you in my prayers for Wee One's surgery. I have 3 kids and that's one thing none of them had a problem with. Now, bronchitis and pneumonia, that's a different story. Stay strong, let us know how it goes. You and your family are in my prayers. My first initial is L also!!
