Midwestern Serial Killer?

A Midwestern serial killer who preys on young, attractive, athletic men? Is this possible? I very well think so. However, many in law Enforcement do not think so-maybe they are right, but how can they be so sure? I am not the only one who agrees these deaths are highly suspicious, not coincidental, and have more than one thing in common other than alcohol. These young college men are disappearing only during school session months. And, why hasnt any young women fallen victim to the "drunk and fell into the river scenario? " I once was a big partier, guys arent the only ones who 'step outside for a fresh of breath air' when they are intoxicated. Sure, I understand things are different these days from when I lived in a college dorm away from home almost 20 years ago (wow, thats a long time ago, how depressing!) We didnt have internet, we didnt have cell phones, we didnt have a lot of the neat things we have today.

Why is very little water found in some of these victims lungs if they drowned? Most of the missing young men, then found dead in water have been along an area that follows highways 94, 494 and the Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana tollway. Many of these young men are found clothes/shoes intact, very much unlike drowning victims. Some of these young men were found upstream from their last location.

These victims are athletic, handsome, responsible, college attending, young men. They were out drinking and hanging with their friends, just like normal college students do.....then somehow they either totally disappear, or are found dead in water.

I borrowed the coincidences listed below this paragraph from this site: Missing Drowning Students Mystery coincidence or serial killer?. It has TONS more information on this 'coincidence'. Please give this site a look, it'll be worth your time, I promise.

Mostly White males between the ages of 17-27

Lived in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana or Chicago the area surrounding Lake Michigan

Mostly students or recent graduates

Most were high-achieving

Most were in good physical condition or athletes

Last seen drinking at a local bar with friends, or at a party

Were under the influence of alcohol

Became separated from the friends with whom they started the evening

All disappeared between the hours of 10 PM and 4 AM

All disappeared between the months of September and April

The closed cases were all determined to be accidental drownings or possible suicides

Many of the apparently drowned were found in the Mississippi River, Red Cedar River or Lake Michigan

When recovered, victim's body has no signs of strangulation, gunshots, stabbing, or other obvious mechanism of death

Victims were immediately reported oddly missing by friends or family

It seems this 'coincidence' has already happened this school session, Courttv.com Message Boards - Lucas G. Homan 21 Wisconisin,9-30-06 [BODY FOUND] . Homan is the 8th young man pulled from the cold, dark waters of the Mississippi River since 1997.

Here's some of the missing or dead young men:

Missing Med Student, Brian Shaffer 4/2/06

Scot Radel found in the Mississippi River 3/1/06

Chris Jenkins disappeared 10/31/02. His body was recovered in the Mississippi River 4 months later

11/5/00 Ryan Knatcher goes missing

Josh Guimond, student, still missing

Patrick Kycia, 19 body found 9/27/05 in the Red River Minnesota

6/9/05 Joshua Snell goes missing then found 4 days later in the Chippewa River

Adam Falcon, 11/13/04 goes missing, found 11/18/04 in the Grasse River

Chris Olberding found 10/6/04 in the Ohio river

The young men listed here are not the entire list. Please go to this site: Missing Drowning Student Mystery Vance Holmes Poetic Justice . It is the SAME one as I listed above, you will be suprised as to all of the information listed at this ONE site.

Amazing that Law Enforcement and the FBI are continuing to see these drownings as a coincidence. The parents and friends of the missing and dead deserve this to be looked into more. If it were one of my sons, Id be hollering for a larger more detailed investigation. Coincidences? I am not so sure I am buying into that idea.....

A serial killer is someone who commits 3 or more murders over an extended period of time with cooling-off periods in between. In between their crimes, they appear to be normal, a state which Hervey Cleckley and Robert Hare call the "mask of sanity." There is often — but not always — a sexual element to the murders.

There have been conflicting reports as to the extent of serial murder. The FBI claimed in the 1980's that at any particular time there were roughly 35 active serial killers in the USA, meaning that the serial killers in question have committed their first murders but have not yet been apprehended or stopped by other means (suicide, incarceration, or a natural death).

Serial Killer Statistics:

The USA has 76% of the worlds serial killers.
Europe in second, has 17%.

England has produced 28% of the European total; Germany produces 27%, and France produces 13%.

California leads in the US with the most Serial Homicide cases that have occured. Texas, New York, Illinois, and Florida follow shortly behind.
Maine has the lowest occurence of serial murders - none. Hawaii, Montana, North Dakota, Delaware, and Vermont each have had only one case of a serial murder.

84% of American killers are caucasian.
16% are black.
Men make up at least 90% of the world wide total of serial killers.
65% of victims are female.
89% of victims are white.
44% of all killers start in their twenties.
26% start in their teens.
24% start in their thirties.
Out of all the killers, 86% are heterosexual.

Sick people in this world...I really think teachers should be able to pick and choose who should be allowed to reproduce! We could prevent things like this from happening !

It seems the public links "coincidential" tragedies quicker than law enforcement. It took many murders of street workers in our capital city of Edmonton, to final convince the police to open a task force. I am sure they will give you all kinds of reasons we don't understand, but making it common knowledge that " we have a problem here folks" would perhaps make these students more cautious.
Then again, I was once an invincible college student.
great post,

Ugh that's awful!!
It does sound like there is one person commiting these crimes..

We've had similar cases here where it was very clear to the community that a serial killer was at work but the police kept denyng it until GEE the public was RIGHT and a man was recently charged with 26 counts of murder. All were in the sex trade. We all suspect that the reason the police didn't give a shit was because they were prostitutes. Look up Willy Pickton and his pig farm.

THEN north of us,there is a highway called the Highway of Tears so named because young woman keep disappearing or turning up dead on it.
Yet again, the police deny there is a serial killer at work, but the community thinks otherwise...time will tell. The shitty thing is that girls keep disappearing and nobody other than their families care.
Fuckers!
Yes this makes me mad.

I hope this all gets resolved.
Those poor families.
Thanks for an interesting post!
