More Gator Trouble

Just 2 short days ago I posted about a Killer Gator that attacked and killed 28 yo Yovy Suarez Jimenez while she was out jogging. Hunters think they killed deadly gator in Suarez's attack. The male alligator was 9 feet, 6 inches long. The hunters found two human arms in the animal's stomach. Tests have not yet confirmed that the remains are those of Yovy Suarez Jimenez. This is a horrible tragedy for this beautiful woman's family-something out of a horror movie. Like my Florida friend brian says " people forget that we are not top of the food chain all the time" and his statement is true.

Reading todays current news, it appears that Alligators blamed for 2 more deaths. 3 attacks in a week in separate Florida counties. 23 yo Annemarie Campbell, of Paris, Tennessee was attacked at a lakeside recreation area while snorkeling. Her stepfather somehow pulled this young woman from the killer gators jaws, sustaining a hand injury himself. Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene. 43-year-old Judy W. Cooper's body was found early Sunday in a canal 20 miles north of St. Petersburg, also was blamed on an alligator. She suffered bites that were consistent with an alligator, which "did play some part in the victim's death," according to a preliminary autopsy. The cause of death was pending and the medical examiner's final report will not be released for 4 weeks. Suarez's death was the 18th confirmed fatal Fatal Alligator Attack in Florida since 1948. 9 other previous deaths are unconfirmed, mainly because it was not clear whether the person was already dead when the alligator attacked. I hope everyone takes the proper precautions to ensure thier own safety in this area of our country. Florida residents are warned not to swim in heavily vegetated areas, feed wildlife or walk pets near the water, especially between dusk and dawn, when alligators are more active.....

brian-like your average high school senior, I traveled to FL to Daytona Beach for spring break when I was 18, I only remember seeing 2 alligators when driving in FL. Thats cool about your town's lake having the most gators! Just like anyother wild animal, they should be treated as such. Take the proper precautions.
