Springtime

Springtime is one of the best seasons (I like them all, winter the least). Everything in Oklahoma has turned green. New foals and calfs all around. It is energizing.

Spring
by Joyce Kilmer
The air is like a butterfly
With frail blue wings
The happy earth looks at the sky
And sings.

Years ago, before I had children and became pinched for time. I arranged 3 horse adoptions/sales for a specialty riding academy in the Tulsa area. The riding school has programs for needy city children, mentally challenged children and physically handicapped children. It is amazing the complete transformation a child makes when they are either in the presence of a horse or on thier back and actually riding. It is terrific your son is going to be able to experience it for himself again soon. I have no doubts that his interacting with horses will be a huge benefit to him. Please let me know how he does, I wish him the best. Horses might be something for him where he can find solace and be at peace. I know it works miracles for me.
Horses have been a part of my life since my very first memories. I have a deep life long love of all horses. In my life, when the going gets tough-I seek out what is familiar and comforting to me, horses, especially my own horse.
I hope he likes the pics, Ill be posting a lot more soon!
